Update Study Group (erstwhile ‘Update’) began publication from Kolkata, India in 1999. From the very beginning, ‘Update’ stood for international socialist movement and Marxist world outlook. ।

Calcutta Institute of Theoretical Physics ( Formerly Institute of Theoretical Physics) having Registration No. S/2L/No.9125 of 2013 – 2014 is an autonomous organization of Physicists and Applied Mathematicians. It was established in 1953 by Professor Kulesh Chandra Kar, an internationally recognized physicist and eminent teacher of Presidency College, Kolkata for the advancement of studies in Physics and allied science subjects in pursuit of researches.
